TPB #18 – Faster Triggering

Posted by:

In this episode I talk about the new digital read feature in Camera Axe software that significantly reduces lag introduced with the Camera Axe.

The old method of analog reads took around 220 us and the new digital reads take around 70 us. Both of those are fast enough for most use cases, but the digital reads might help in certain cases.

You can get the new beta Camera Axe software with these changes here.

Hi Maurice, just tried the digital setting in the Advanced menu, using my gravity sensor as the trigger device, and I got the same results whether I set it on Hi or low, is that correct. Ernie

I’m not exactly sure what you mean by the same results, but I think that is ok. That sensor does work with digital signals so it should work in either analog or digital modes. The digital mode will just have less lag which in many cases won’t be noticeable.

After re-reading your comment I think you are saying when you changed the “Trig Val” from Low to High in the Advanced Menu and then hit activate in the advanced menu it had no effect. I did some testing and this isn’t how my sensors works.

You aren’t expecting this to affect the gravity menu, right? No settings in the Advanced menu affect any other menu.
